KASARANI TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL COLLEGE

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Madam Josephine Begi

Kasarani Technical and Vocational College endeavors to implement fully the Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) in all its courses. It is important to note that there has been a mismatch between the industry and what the training institutions produce for the labor market for a long time. This has necessitated the reason why we must fast track the introduction of CBET in our training institutions so as to play a critical role in the development of relevant skills for Kenya’s economic and social development agenda.

We intend to put more emphasis on courses geared to boost a fordable housing by producing grandaunts with proper skills on construction Industry, and doing research on the production of cheap and affordable construction materials. In the side of food security, we intend to embark on training agriculture students on new farming techniques to boost production and value addition. Our Mechanical and Automotive Departments shall be encouraged to move with speed to implement CBET programs so as to produce relevant skills for the industries concern. The government of Kenya is committed to offering practical skills to all youths. We currently charge a fee of Ksh 56,420/year in all courses. The government pays a capitation fee of Ksh 30,000/year to every student errolled in a TVET institution. The remaining Ksh 26,420 is paid by the student/parent/guardian. Still if you are not able to cater for the ksh26,420, you can apply for a HELB loan to a tune of Ksh 40,000. So welcome to Kasarani TVC.
